Chrysalis / Crisálida

The Chrysalis series is born from studies of the stories (itã) surrounding the figure of Oyá, an orixá within Yoruba worldviews. Oyá is a mediator of worlds — between the animate and the elemental, the human and the animal, the feminine and the wild, the living and the dead.
Expanding her representation beyond mythology and archetypal symbolism, Chrysalis invites the gaze into the playful, the dreams and desires that a woman like Oyá might hold in contemporary times — a living and powerful presence in our psyche and society, like a heart of thunder — illuminated, pulsating, and purified of illusions. From it, we begin to live reality with truth and clarity.

A série Crisálida nasce de estudos sobre os contos (itã) que circundam a figura de Oyá, orixá pertencente às cosmovisões Yorubá. Oyá é mediadora de mundos: entre o animado e o elemental, o humano e o animal, o feminino e o selvagem, os vivos e os mortos.
Ampliando sua representação para além da mitologia e dos simbolismos arquetípicos, Crisálida convida o olhar ao lúdico, aos sonhos e desejos que uma mulher como Oyá poderia ter na contemporaneidade — uma presença viva e poderosa em nossa psique e sociedade, como um coração de trovão — iluminado, pulsante e purificado de ilusões. A partir dele, vivemos a realidade com verdade e clareza.
